The Travel Blogger and Travel Designer Selena Castoldi, accompanied by the staff of Palazzo Conti, visited the three Baroque cities.
Different weekend than usual for Palazzo Conti, the hotel in an eighteenth-century building in the center of via Mormino Penna in Scicli. From last Thursday to Sunday, the Travel Blogger and Travel Designer, Selena Castoldi was a guest of the structure. Selena, in addition to a dense presence in the travel world of social networks, has a blog entirely dedicated to travel where she recounts her experiences of discovering wonderful places that can leave the traveler with authentic experiences. Her “community of travellers”, as she likes to define it, is attentive to the details of places, loves experiences that allow you to touch the authenticity of a place firsthand, get involved in a story that is steeped in history and legend.
This is the mood of the trip organized for her by Palazzo Conti. Intense and varied program to show and let her and her “travellers” experience as many facets as possible of our territory. “From the Donnafugata Castle with its garden and its labyrinth, to the guided tours of our main centres” – say Marcella and Alessandro – we have tried to build together with Selena an itinerary that tells our authenticity”. The starting point is the Castle of Donnafugata so that you can immerse yourself directly in the glories of our past and perceive the golden aura of our territory. The afternoon continued with a bike ride in Marina di Ragusa from the port to Montalbano’s house in Punta Secca. “Thanks to Raffaele Sivillica of Rasi Rent, we enjoyed the air of our sea and the splendor of our sunset”.
“In the following days, experiences and guided tours alternated. Annalisa, Ivana and Simona catapulted us to the time of our grandparents. In the valley of Santa Domenica, near the Mulino La Timpa, we have literally ‘put our hands in the dough’: from the process of grinding ancient grains, such as the Senatore Cappelli variety, to kneading, spreading and cooking. The occasion was perfect to taste the results of these processes”.
Mattia Cerruto of Ceramiche Cerruto has opened the doors of his workshop where, together with Sara, Ilaria and Ezechiele, they pass on their father’s tradition, with a pinch of modernity that makes his ceramics timeless. And today, they also make one-of-a-kind pieces to order and ship worldwide. Sweet break from Bonajuto to Modica; in the Fattojo, between tastings and historical notes, Selena was able to touch all the manufacturing processes of Modica chocolate, from the cocoa bean to the finished product.
Experiences that have been accompanied by Roberto Sammito of Visit Vigata. During the walks in Modica, Scicli and Ragusa Ibla, Roberto told Selena about our historical origins and some of our traditions and also about the old past conflicts, largely resolved today, which gave life to what our province is today: a jewel timeless. “For the blog tour with Selena we chose Scicli – declare Marcella and Alessandro – because it is our city and because it is a unique place to be discovered. We thank Gaetano Buscema of BS Marketing for the support on the social networks of the group and all the actors of this week and who have opened the doors for us to a new way of telling who we are”
Soon on his blog In Viaggio Con Selena all the articles.
